An important part of this is a university-wide approach to student mental health. Our Student Wellbeing Team is a multi-disciplinary team of counsellors, mental health practitioners, and administrators, and will be expanding its central service provision to work within our academic schools. We are seeking to recruit five Wellbeing Practitioners who will work within our academic schools to support the implementation of a whole-university approach to mental health and wellbeing.By providing a first point of contact when there are concerns about student mental health or wellbeing, the role will facilitate access to timely and appropriate interventions for students. The post holder will work closely with the academic school and the Student Wellbeing Service to ensure effective support for students during the lifetime of their studies. They will contribute to meeting the development and support needs of our academic school staff in responding appropriately to student mental health concerns and will maintain a focus on mental health promotion and preventative activities.To apply, you will need to be an experienced mental health practitioner with substantial experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams and proven ability to work flexibly in evolving services. You must hold a current professional qualification in the field of mental health care and be registered with a professional body such as the NMC or HCPC. Extensive experience of delivering collaborative, therapeutic interventions using a case management approach for people who have complex or long-standing mental health problems is essential You will also have a good understanding of student mental health in the higher education sector and value of working in partnership to influence change across large organisations.
